Team Flash looks quite different this season compared to how it looked in season 3. When “The Flash” returned for season 4, Julian was gone, Caitlin wasn’t part of the team, and Wally West and Cisco were doing a lot of work out in the field.
Caitlin has returned, but last week the team lost another member when Wally West announced that he was leaving Central City. Wally had one of the central story arcs of season 3, but after Barry returned from the Speed Force, Wally sort of faded into the background.
However, fans who are hoping to see him again don’t need to worry, because executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed to TV Line that Wally will return in episode 7.
Kreisberg added that having two speedsters on the show is difficult, but Wally will have an exciting story that will unfold this season.
“It’s difficult having two speedsters on the show, just creatively and financially…There are a lot of times where either Barry had to get knocked out so Wally could save the day, or Wally had to get knocked out so Barry could save the day — and just knocking them out, that costs a lot. But Wally is not gone. Wally is not gone, certainly, from the Arrowverse, and he’ll be back on Flash, and more exciting stuff about Wally will be revealed as we move forward.”
As we saw this week, Ralph Dibny was invited to join the team, so when Wally returns we’ll have to see how he gets along with The Elongated Man.
