It’s time to get ready for some time traveling fun, because next week DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will be returning for season 3. “The Flash” will also be returning for season 4 on the same night, and it looks like both shows will be getting down to business right away.
“Legends of Tomorrow” has never been shy about using characters from “Arrow” and “The Flash” and last season Eobard Thawne served as the big bad alongside Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn. This season fans will be seeing the return of Damien Darhk, and it’s also been confirmed that Gorilla Grodd will be a part of season 3.
Now some new rumors have surfaced providing details regarding Grodd’s evil plan, but please be aware that these rumors could be potential spoilers.
Bleeding Cool is reporting that Gorilla Grodd is set to appear in episode 7 titled “Welcome To The Jungle” and the team will be traveling to 1967-68 when the Vietnam War was taking place.
The report notes that Grodd will be trying to escalate the conflict as he attempts to turn the Vietnam War into World War III.
It’s also rumored that the episode will introduce Mick Rory’s father who will be known as Dick Rory, played by Evan James who appeared as Retch in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”
Dick will reportedly carry a flamethrower and he will be featured in a scene where he teams up with his son to literally roast the villains.
The showrunners already confirmed that Gorilla Grodd will be part of the new season, but this sounds like it could make for an interesting story for Grodd.
Are you looking forward to seeing him face off against the Legends?
DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return on Tuesday, October 10.
After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question.
With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time traveling heroics, Sara (Caity Lotz) wastes no time in getting the Legends back together. We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nick Heywood (Nick Zano), and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm.
Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.
