Without a doubt one of the most wonderful things about the “Arrowverse” is the crossovers. The annual crossover events have only gotten better and better with each passing year, but the smaller crossovers are also fun in their own right. It was recently confirmed that Felicity Smoak will be making her way to Central City for an episode of “The Flash” and now it’s been confirmed that an animated character from the “Arrowverse” will be appearing on “Legends of Tomorrow” season 3.

In a Producer’s Preview video, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Megalyn Echikunwoke will bring the Mari McCabe version of Vixen to “Legends of Tomorrow” in season 3. Guggenheim teased that fans will just be getting a “glimpse” of Mari McCabe on the show, but he hopes they will be able to film more scenes featuring both versions of Vixen later in the season.

Mari McCabe previously appeared on an episode of “Arrow” but this will mark her first appearance on “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Fans who have been keeping up with the “Vixen” animated series are likely familiar with Kuasa, and we’ll be seeing a live action version of her in the new season played by Tracy Ifeachor. Kuasa is set to be one of the main villains of season 3.

Guggenheim also confirmed a few weeks ago during an interview with EW that the “Vixen” animated series is canon. Ray Palmer crossed paths with Kuasa in season 2 of the animated series, and Ray will acknowledge their meeting when they come face to face in live action.

“If you go back and look at Vixen season 2, I wouldn’t exactly call her fighting alongside Ray, she’s always been morally questionable. But I think that’s what makes it interesting as far as Amaya is concerned is that Ray, at the appropriate moment, will accurately tell her that there were moments where Kuasa was capable of selfless good, so I think that gives Amaya a little bit of hope.”

DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return for season 3 on Tuesday, October 10.

After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question.

With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time traveling heroics, Sara (Caity Lotz) wastes no time in getting the Legends back together. We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nick Heywood (Nick Zano), and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm.

Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.
