“Arrow” season 5 came to an end a few weeks ago, and the season went out with a bang, literally. At the end of the finale Lian Yu exploded with everyone but Oliver, William and Adrian Chase on the island. It was a huge cliffhanger, and now fans are anxiously waiting for the season premiere so we can find out who survived.

Related: The CW Announces Fall Premiere Dates For The Flash, Arrow, Legends And More

It’s likely that there will be some deaths because without some sort of drama the explosion wouldn’t mean all that much. But of course it’s also unlikely that the entire cast will be replaced, so it’s safe to assume that there were survivors, and today we’re going to look at 5 characters who probably survived the explosion.

#5 – Wild Dog

Photo: The CW

Wild Dog was somewhat of a divisive character in “Arrow” season 5, as it took a little while for fans to embrace him. Eventually he grows on you, but even if you don’t like him it’s hard to deny that he’s served his purpose by adding something to the team.

Although the character is extremely reckless at times, he does have dumb luck which has at times proved to be a valuable asset to the team.

Rick Gonalez has been upgraded to a series regular for season 6, so it’s probably safe to say he’s going to be returning in the fall.

#4 – Dinah Drake

Photo: The CW

Much like Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy was upgraded to a series regular for “Arrow” season 6, so it’s probably safe to assume that she survived as well.

Dinah Drake proved to be a welcome addition to Team Arrow, but she still hasn’t really been given the spotlight just yet.

In the season finale Quentin Lance gave Dinah his blessing to become the next Black Canary, and obviously Black Canary is a vital part of the Green Arrow mythos. After all the backlash the writers faced for killing off Laurel, it would seem kind of silly to go through all that effort to bring in a new Black Canary only to kill her off.

#3 – Thea Queen

Photo: The CW

When it comes to family, Thea is all that Oliver Queen has left. Oliver’s crusade has cost him everything, and although he’s nearly lost his sister several times, Thea has managed to survive.

Thea wasn’t really a central character in “Arrow” season 5 as she left Team Arrow to deal with her own personal issues, and Willa Holland wasn’t signed on for the full season. However, she can always be brought right back into the mix at any given time, and Thea still has a journey of her own she needs to complete.

Oliver had been through a lot before season 5, but his war with Adrian Chase took things to a whole new level. At this point it would just be plain cruel to take Thea away from him.

Plus, Marc Guggenheim has said that as long as he’s working on the show Thea will never be killed off.

“I can’t speak for Greg [Berlanti] or for Wendy [Mericle], but for as long as I’m involved with the show, the two things I never want to do is kill off Thea [Willa Holland] and put Felicity in a mask and a costume,” Guggenheim said in a recent interview. “Those, to me, are two lines that I just think are a bridge too far.”

#2 – Diggle

Photo: The CW

Diggle is the conscience of Team Arrow, and without him there’s no way that Oliver Queen would have made it this far. John Diggle and Oliver aren’t blood related but they are brothers without a doubt.

Killing Diggle off would mean changing the status quo in a huge way, and although the show will likely try new things in season 6, writing Diggle out of the series would be a huge mistake. Diggle is and always will be one of the most important characters on the show, and without him Oliver wouldn’t have an anchor to keep him grounded.

#1 – Felicity

Photo: The CW

Olicity haters be damned, we should all probably accept that there’s a really good chance Felicity survived the season finale.

The Oliver/Felicity romance was a hot topic among fans during seasons 3 and 4, but for all the wrong reasons. Fans hoped to see them join together in a happy union, but instead their relationship just became the source of a lot of unnecessary drama which resulted in a lot of eye rolling.

The “Arrow” writers gave Olicity a rest for most of season 5, but in the episode “Underneath” fans were finally given a glimpse of how much fun Oliver and Felicity can be together when they actually get along

Despite the fact that there’s a good amount of people out there who would like to see Oliver end up with some version of the Black Canary, it seems that an eventual Oliver and Felicity marriage is the endgame in the love department.

Also, it’s already been teased that Helix will be returning in season 6, and it wouldn’t make much sense to pick up that plot thread once again without involved Felicity Smoak.

“Arrow” is currently on its fourth season which means the five years worth of flashbacks will be running out next year. The flashbacks have become a familiar part of the show if the show does indeed go beyond five years, the writers will have to find a way to address the face that the five years of flashbacks are over. Here’s a few ideas in regards to what the show could do once the flashbacks run out.

#5 – Simply Cut Them Out

Photo: The CW

During the first two seasons the flashbacks were a great fit. They were fun in their own right but they also had a coherent connection to what was going on in the present. Things are a little less tight nowadays and flashback sequences seem to be weighing the show down.

After reaching the five season mark, the show will have caught up to itself and the flashbacks will no longer be necessary. Trying to shoehorn in something else could do more harm than good. Once the flashbacks are over it might be best to just focus on the present and nothing more.

#4 – Focus On Diggle Or Felicity

Photo: Diyah Pera/The CW

It’s probably safe to say that after five years of flashbacks we will have learned all we need to know about Oliver Queen’s past. But there’s still a lot we don’t know about Felicity Smoak or John Diggle.

Felicity and Diggle have been featured in the flashbacks before, but certainly not to the extent that Oliver has. Felicity has an interesting past as a hacker and we’ve barely even scratched the surface in regards to Diggle’s time in the military. Both characters are just as important to the show as Oliver is. And we would love to know a little bit more about what they were doing before they joined Team Arrow.

#3 – Flash Forwards

Photo: The CW

“Arrow” has us hooked this season thanks to a flash forward in the premiere which showed Oliver Queen standing over a grave. Who’s in there? The anticipation is killing us, and that’s the point!

Flash forwards are a fun way to build mysteries that keep the audience guessing. They also give the writers the chance to tell a story backwards which would keep things fresh for the show.

#2 – Focus On Deathstroke

Photo: The CW

Deathstroke was without a doubt the most epic villain “Arrow” has ever seen and fans have been dying to see more of him. There’s so much story to be told with the character and an entire season featuring flashbacks focused on him would definitely be satisfying.

Producer Marc Guggenheim has said that Slade Wilson is currently “tied up” in another DC project. But we’re holding out hope that someday he will be able to return to “Arrow” for the ultimate showdown with Oliver Queen.

When we last left Deathstroke he was locked up in a prison on Lian Yu. The story of him breaking out and going after Oliver Queen for revenge could be worth telling over an entire season of flashbacks if done right. Have the flashbacks show everything that Slade Wilson had to go through to get another chance at revenge on his ultimate enemy. Show his journey from Lian Yu to Star City. Show all of his remorse, all of his pain and most importantly, show his hatred for Oliver Queen.

The flashbacks could then culminate in another meeting between Deathstroke and the Green Arrow. You have to admit, a whole season worth of Slade Wilson-centric flashbacks sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?

#1 – Explore The Multiverse

Photo: The CW

Now that “The Flash” has opened up the multiverse with Earth-2 the possibilities are endless. Parallel universes aren’t exactly the type of thing Team Arrow is familiar with, which is why it would be fun to introduce that new element to the show.

Having doppelgangers on “The Flash” has been a lot of fun so far and it could be just as fun on “Arrow” if done right. We know that on Oliver’s father, Robert Queen is the Green Arrow. But what about Felicity Smoak of Earth-2? Sara Lance? Laurel Lance? Diggle? Like we said, the possibilities are endless.

The Earth-2 saga continued this week on “The Flash” with “Escape From Earth-2.” Last week’s episode was amazing and this week’s episode raised the stakes in every way. It’s less than a day old and it’s already being referred to as one of the best episode of the series by fans of “The Flash.”

“Escape From Earth-2” definitely had its fair share of memorable moments and we’re here today to take a look at 6 things we can’t stop talking about from the episode.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD

#6 – Killer Frost Joins Up With Team Flash

gif via: deathsdaleks

Team Flash had to turn to an unlikely all this week as they asked Killer Frost for help finding Zoom’s lair. Killer Frost wasn’t easily sold on the idea of turning on Zoom but eventually she came around. Not before she tried to kill Team Flash of course. We probably shouldn’t be surprised though. As Earth-2 Barry Allen pointed out, her name does start with Killer after all.

The alliance was shaky at best, but in the end Killer Frost played a vital role in making sure the good guys saved the day. Hopefully she doesn’t end up paying the price for it with Zoom.

#5 – Harrison Wells Gets His Daughter Back

gif via: acewest360

Harrison Wells of Earth-2, let’s just call him Harry, has spent the better part of this season trying to get his daughter back from Zoom. During “Escape From Earth-2” Harry was finally able to free Jesse Quick with a little help from his friends.

It was a heartwarming moment seeing Jesse finally free of her shackles and reunited with her father. Now that Harry has his daughter back he can get down to business and help the team find a way to stop Zoom.

#4 – Earth-2 Barry Allen Steps It Up

gif via: barrysass

Earth-2’s Barry Allen jumped right into action when he found out Iris was going with Team Flash to stop Zoom. However it didn’t take long for him to find out he was in over his head. Still, he carried on and he was the key player that ended up motivating The Flash to do the same.

If it wasn’t for Earth-2 Barry Allen’s little pep talk, Earth-1 Barry Allen would still be in that speedster proof box and we can’t have that. The Flash has a city to save and a super-villain to stop.

Barry Allen of Earth-2 might not be The Flash. But he proved that he can still be a hero in his own little way.

#3 – Geomancer Attacks S.T.A.R. Labs

gif via: arthurdrvill

Can we please talk about the security problem at S.T.A.R. Labs? Seriously it is way too easy for metahumans to get in there and this week Geomancer made himself right at home.

The good thing is that S.T.A.R. Labs is equipped with the right weapons to fight metahumans. After a little bit of work Iris and Caitlin were able to put Geomancer down thanks to Caitlin’s poor but effective aim with an anti-metahuman weapon.

Another thing worth mentioning is Jay Garrick’s whereabouts during Geomancer’s attack. Where was he? He said he was going to catch some sleep but are we really supposed to believe that Jay could have slept through an earthquake?

#2 – The Man In The Iron Mask

gif via: itisalltherage

Everyone’s been talking about the man in the iron mask since “Escape From Earth-2” aired. His appearance and attempt at communication with Barry Allen and Jesse Quick has created one of the best mysteries of the season so far. Who is the man in the iron mask?

Well, let’s take a look at the facts. Once he was able to establish a line of communication with Barry and Jesse, he spelled out the name Jay Garrick. Then when Barry said Jay Garrick was fine on Earth-1, the person in the mask started to get upset and bang on the box. It’s also worth mentioning that the man in the mask was trapped in a speedster proof box like Barry and not just shackled up behind bars like Jesse.

Whoever this person is they seem awfully fixated on Jay Garrick. There’s no doubt a much bigger story to be told here and there’s something sketchy going on with Jay. He wasn’t around when Geomancer attacked S.T.A.R. Labs and the man in the iron mask freaked out when Barry said Jay was ok on Earth-1.

Is the man we know as Jay Garrick from Earth-2 really even Jay Garrick at all?

#1 – Zoom Kills Jay Garrick?

gif via: centralcitygifs

After Harry, Jesse, Barry and Cisco returned from Earth-2 you just knew something terrible was going to happen. Jesse had been rescued and the breach had seemingly been closed. Naturally everyone assumed that the day had been saved. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

After Team Flash returned ,Jay took a little victory walk up to the Speed Cannon and that’s when Zoom’s hand appeared as it cut straight through Jay’s chest. The episode left us on an epic cliffhanger as Jay Garrick appeared to be killed by Zoom right before Zoom pulled his body through the breach.

So is Jay Garrick really dead? We should know by now that nothing is as it seems when it comes to “The Flash.” There’s some sort of twist here and we just can’t see it yet.

What’s your favorite fan theory stemming from this week’s episode? What do you think is really going on with Jay Garrick? Sound off below.

This week’s episode of “Arrow” was titled “Sins of the Father” and it focused heavily on Malcolm Merlyn and the consequences for his actions. Thea Queen recently went into a coma caused by her bloodlust. In this episode Nyssa Al Ghul returned to Star City and offered Oliver an elixir that would cure Thea in exchange for killing Malcolm Merlyn.

So did Oliver kill Malcolm Merlyn and save Thea’s life? See how “Sins of the Father” went down with these 8 moments that we can’t stop talking about.

#8 – Oliver And Felicity Plan A Wedding

gif via: arthurdrvill

Oliver already asked Felicity to marry him earlier in the season and she said yes. But in “Sins of the Father” Oliver asked her again.

She once again said yes and it seems like they’ll be planning a wedding sooner rather than later. Which is either good or bad news depending on how you feel about Olicity.

#7 – The Flashbacks

gif via: bigdeesmallworld

Seriously though, what’s going on with the flashbacks? Oliver is locked up, with some chick, that we don’t really care about. He’s back on Lian Yu with some people, that we don’t really care about. Doing something sketchy, involving magic, that we don’t really care about.

It seems like this will all eventually tie back in somehow with the magic theme leading Oliver to some big revelation. But the path to get to there has been rough. The flashbacks no longer feel like they connect to the main story. They’ve become more of a burden to sit through rather than something to look forward to, and that’s a shame.

#6 – Thea Is Cured

gif via: dailyflarrowgifs

After Thea went into a coma last week Nyssa promised Oliver that she had a cure which could restore her back to optimal health. There were quite a few twists and turns along the way, but eventually Oliver got the cure.

It’s been a rough season for Thea, dealing with her bloodlust and all. Hopefully this gives her a bit of break from that burden so she can get back to doing her Speedy thing.

#5 – Felicity Has Her Father Arrested

gif via: arrowsource

We found out during last week’s episode that Felicity’s father was none other than the villain of the week, The Calculator. In “Sins of the Father” he met with Felicity and attempted to reconcile. Things seemed to go well and the two bonded from there.

Later on in the episode Felicity discovered that her father wasn’t as good of a man as she hoped he was and she turned him into the police. It’s hard not to feel like this is all going to come back around and turn out to be a decision Felicity lives to regret. But time will tell.

#4 – Oliver Chops Off Malcolm’s Hand

gif via: arrowsource

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Oliver Queen over the course of three seasons it’s that he always has a trick up his sleeve. When he says he has some sort of crazy plan, you should probably believe him.

Oliver used his marriage to Nyssa as a way to step in and take her place in a duel with Malcolm Merlyn. But instead of killing Malcolm, he chopped his hand off, then took his ring and gave it to Nyssa.

It was kind of hard to tell how this was duel was going to go down and Oliver getting the upper hand on Malcolm, literally, was a nice way for it to end.

#3 – Nyssa Al Ghul Becomes The New Ra’s Al Ghul

gif via: itberice

Nyssa Al Ghul has wanted to become Ra’s Al Ghul for a long time and it appears to be something that the League of Assassins has wanted as well. As soon as Oliver acquired Malcolm’s ring he gave it to Nyssa in exchange for the Lotus elixir. When Nyssa put it on the League immediately bowed to her and said “Ra’s!” in unison.

Nyssa Al Ghul was always bound to get her revenge against Malcolm Merlyn but it was a surprise to see it happen like this. Still, after all the trouble Malcolm Merlyn has put her through, she deserved the right to call herself Ra’s Al Ghul. Even if it was only for a little while.

#2 – Nyssa Disbands The League Of Assassins

gif via: barryirisallens

After finally acquiring the title of Ra’s Al Ghul, Nyssa called Oliver Queen, Laurel Lance and Malcolm Merlyn to a meeting. From there she melted the League’s ring and announced that she has disbanded the League of Assassins. She said that no one would be held prisoner by her father any longer.

The League of Assassins has been a part of “Arrow” for a long time now so this was kind of a shock. Even when they aren’t at the forefront of the show they always had a presence lurking in the shadows. With the League of Assassins seemingly gone for good, you have to wonder what other type of organization might step in and take their place.

#1 – Malcolm Merlyn Tells Damien Darhk That Oliver Has A Son

gif via: thunderbirdthor

After Nyssa melted the ring Malcolm Merlyn made it very clear to Oliver that they are once again enemies. They’re not just any type of enemies, they’re the worst kind. Merlyn declared that death would be a mercy compared to the debt he now owes Oliver Queen

At the end of the episode we learned that Malcolm Merlyn wasn’t messing around as he met with Damien Darhk. During their meeting Merlyn revealed to Darhk that Oliver has a son. Once again proving that he is indeed pure evil. The episode ended from there.

This week’s episode of “The Flash” saw the team travel to Earth-2 and the episode more than lived up to the hype. There were doppelgangers galore and plenty of twists and surprises along the way. The episode was arguably one of the best the series has ever produced and we wanted to point out 8 moments that we can’t stop talking about.

Let’s get started.

#8 – Barry Allen Finally Getting The Relationship He’s Always Wanted With Iris

Gif via: winsloschott

Barry Allen and Iris West of Earth-1 have always been close but there’s always something preventing them from getting closer. Barry has wanted a romantic relationship with Iris for most of his life and when he assumed the life of Barry Allen on Earth-2, he got it.

It was fun watching Barry adjust to getting something he’s always wanted and it was a welcome change to see the two together. Barry seemed happy to finally get the girl of his dreams, even if it did come with unexpected luggage of a strained relationship with Joe.

#7 – Barry Has A Normal Conversation With His Mom

Gif via: weslehgibbins

It’s been a long time since Barry Allen has had a normal conversation with his mother. She was killed by Eobard Thawne when he was very young and he’s been grieving the loss ever since. But Earth-2’s Barry Allen doesn’t have that problem.

In this week’s episode Earth-1 Barry Allen ended up on the phone with Earth-2 Barry Allen’s mother and it was a little heartbreaking. The only time Barry has talked to his mother as an adult was when he went back in time to save her. During that conversation his mother was dying so it’s safe to say that it was a little less than ideal.

But Barry Allen of Earth-1 talking to his mother on Earth-2 was a nice touch. It was also another reminder that Barry’s Earth-2 doppelganger has the life he always wished he could.

#6 – Deadshot Returns

Gif via: e2harrisonwells

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Floyd Lawton in the Arrowverse and it was a pleasant surprise to see him pop up on Earth-2. On Earth-2 Lawton is a police officer who works for the Central City Police Department where Barry Allen of Earth-2 also works.

Barry Allen of Earth-1 crossed paths with Lawton he immediately looked at him and asked “Deadshot?” However Earth-2’s Floyd Lawton apparently isn’t that great of a shot and the reference to the name had him on the defensive. Deadshot has been missed on Earth-1 and this was a nice nod to the fans of both shows. It was fun to see a familiar face, with a familiar name in a different role.

#5 – Jay Garrick Gets His Speed Back

Gif via: dailydcheroes

It was very exciting when Jay Garrick came to Earth-1 to work with Team Flash. But since joining up with the team he hasn’t done much of anything. Garrick has come down with a sickness caused by the Velocity-6 formula that cost him his speed and could eventually cost him his life.

With Barry Allen defending Earth-2, Joe West reminded Garrick that Earth-1 needed a Flash when Central City was being attacked by Geo-Mancer. That’s when Caitlin developed a Velocity-7 formula that temporarily gave Jay his speed back.

Although it was only for a brief moment, it was exciting to see Jay actually use his powers. It’s also encouraging to think that a cure for his lack of speed could be coming soon as the character is in desperate need of something interesting to do.

#4 – Cisco Meets His Earth-2 Doppelganger

Gif via: dailycisco

Cisco is a pretty cool guy on Earth-1. At least to us anyway. He’s a vital member of Team Flash as his ideas and inventions often play a big role in taking down metahumans. Besides, if Cisco wasn’t around, who would name all the metahumans anyway?

A big part of Cisco’s story lately has been his transformation into Vibe. This week he met his Earth-2 counterpart named Reverb and Reverb had already developed his powers to a level that Cisco never dream would be possible.

Reverb offered to teach Cisco how to use his powers, but unfortunately he didn’t make it to the end of the episode as he was killed at the hands of Zoom. Still, it makes you wonder just how powerful Cisco of Earth-1 will become.

#3 – Zoom Returns In A Terrifying Way

Gif via: dailycisco

Zoom seems to be catching flack from some circles of fans for not holding up to the greatness of the Reverse-Flash in season 1. But one thing’s for sure, when Zoom does make an appearance, he’s terrifying.

Zoom took out Reverb and Deathstorm in one fell swoop but spared Killer Frost. He then then took Barry prisoner. Scenes like this make it seem like there’s no hope for Barry and the fact that he’s going to have to be rescued next week make Zoom seem like a serious threat.

With the exception of the Reverse-Flash, villains usually have a tough time trying to match the power of The Flash but that doesn’t seem to be a problem whatsoever for Zoom. That’s a little scary.

Plus Zoom murdering Cisco of Earth-2 the exact same way the Reverse-Flash murdered Cisco of Earth-1 in “Out of Time” was a great reference.

#2 – Supergirl Makes An Appearance

Gif via: ahoymilady

If you blinked you might have missed it but Supergirl made a brief appearance in “Welcome to Earth-2.” While Barry, Cisco and Harry were crossing over to Earth-2 Supergirl appeared within a Speed Force vision as she flew by.

Barry Allen is set to appear in the March 28 episode of “Supergirl” titled “Worlds Finest” and this is another sign that the multiverse is going to be how it all comes together. You can always look forward to Barry Allen seeing something interesting in his speed force visions but this was definitely the coolest one yet.

#1 – Anything Killer Frost Did

Gif via: arthurdrvill

The first appearance of Killer Frost was without a doubt one of the most anticipated moments in the history of “The Flash” and the show did not disappoint. Danielle Panabaker absolutely nailed it with her portrayal of an evil Caitlin Snow from Earth-2.

Killer Frost was powerful, funny and entertaining at all times. She lived up to the hype and we can’t wait to see more of her in next week’s episode and hopefully beyond.

Last year the concept of Flash/Arrow crossover episodes was introduced to the Arrowverse and it was a dream come true for the fans. The first time around things were fun, but this year everyone involved with “The Flash” and “Arrow” took things to a whole new level.

This year’s Flash/Arrow crossover played out less like two separate crossover episodes and more like one big blockbuster movie. Much like any good blockbuster movie, we can’t stop talking about how much fun it was. Here are the things that stood out the most from this year’s Flash/Arrow crossover episodes.

#10 – Pretty Much Anything Thea Did

Willa Holland’s Thea Queen becoming an official member of Team Arrow has been one of the most refreshing things to happen to the show in a long time. Her presence was certainly felt throughout this year’s crossover and it was met with open arms. Willa Holland somehow manages to make Thea adorable but fierce and it’s beyond entertaining to watch.

She delivered some fun quotes during the crossover, but perhaps her best moment in the crossover was when Cisco told her she should have consulted him before choosing the name Speedy. Sorry Cisco but a name change isn’t happening.

#9 – Oliver Queen Finding Out He’s A Father

We’ve known for a while now that Oliver Queen is a father in the Arrowverse. Moira Queen paid off the mother of Oliver’s son in order to keep the fact that he had a child a secret and in the crossover Oliver finally discovered the truth.

It was a heartwarming moment seeing Oliver hang out and play action figures with his son William, and we hope to see more of them together going forward. Maybe Oliver can event get his own Green Arrow action figure so that he can team up with William’s figure of The Flash. Now that sounds like an epic crossover.

#8 – The Olicity Fight

During season 2 everyone was begging for Oliver and Felicity to get together. Then during season 3 of the show their relationship was a constant source of ridiculous drama and fans were begging for them to be separated. But for most of season 4 they’ve managed to work as a fun, cohesive unit. However, the crossover episodes showed cracks in the foundation of their relationship.

We get that the mother of Oliver’s son doesn’t want anyone else to know about his connection to Oliver, but does he really have to keep it a secret from Felicity? This situation just creates so much drama that’s not needed. After sitting through an entire season of a “Will they or won’t they?” dynamic it’s been refreshing to see them get along so well in season 4.

But no one wants to hear Felicity speak in her crying voice anymore. Either solve this situation quickly and end the drama, or keep them apart, it’s putting too much of a damper on the show at this point.

#7 – Barry Allen Interacting With Oliver Queen

During last year’s crossover episode Barry and Oliver were still trying to figure each other out. This time around they’re a lot more familiar with each other and a fun friendship has formed between the two heroes. They couldn’t be any more different from each other which is why they compliment each other so well.

Oliver is often serious and brooding and Barry is normally lighthearted and optimistic. That makes for a fun dynamic when The Flash and Green Arrow team up. Plus Oliver Queen’s reaction when Barry Allen tried to hug him was just priceless.

#6 – The “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” Reference

We were all thinking it, and luckily Thea Queen said it. A bunch of superheroes heading to a farmhouse was a familiar sight in the crossover episode, because we had already seen it happen earlier this year in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

That’s why it was so much fun for the writers to address this head on. A little fourth wall breaking goes a long way. Especially when you’re breaking the fourth wall to acknowledge a Marvel movie on an episode of DC’s “Arrow.”

#5 – Kendra Unleashes Hawkgirl

Kendra Saunders was introduced to the cast of “The Flash” a few weeks ago and we all knew what she would become. Unfortunately for Kendra however, she had no idea she’s Hawkgirl and she had to find out the hard way. It took her a little while to get it together, but once she unleashed Hawkgirl, things got pretty awesome.

We were all anxious to see Hawkgirl join the Arrowverse and Ciara Renee made her emergence worth watching. She’s definitely got our attention now and we’re anxious to see more of her when “Legends of Tomorrow” premieres on January 21st.

#4 – Patty Shoots Harrison Wells

The introduction of Earth-2 characters on “The Flash” has added a whole new layer to the show. Now we have doppelgangers from Earth-2 jumping over to Earth-1 and things can quickly get confusing for anyone that doesn’t know what’s going on. Unfortunately for Patty, she doesn’t have a clue.

Patty is Barry’s girlfriend and Joe’s partner. She’s getting suspicious and she knows that something weird is going on. When she encountered Harrison Wells at S.T.A.R. Labs she naturally though he was Harrison Wells from Earth-1 so she shot him.

Luckily Jay Garrick was able to save Wells when he got his speed back temporarily thanks to Wells’ Velocity 6 formula. But this incident has to make Joe and Barry realize that their days of keeping secrets from Patty are going to have to come to an end soon and we can’t wait to see her reaction when she finds out what’s really going on.

#3 – Vandal Savage Kills Everyone…But Barry

Obviously we knew that the writers weren’t going to kill off the casts of “Arrow” and “The Flash” but it was still devastating to see most of our favorite characters turn to ash at the hands of Vandal Savage. Seeing everyone get obliterated so quickly was a huge shock and a true testament to how ruthless Vandal Savage can be.

We’ve seen Team Flash and Team Arrow face impossible odds before. But seeing them all get obliterated so easily was scary because it made everyone seem so powerless.

#2 – Barry Time Travels

Luckily for Team Arrow and Team Flash, Vandal Savage’s deadly attack on Central City wasn’t the end of their story. We had already seen Barry Allen “ghosting” earlier in the episode so we knew that he would be time traveling at some point, we just didn’t know when.

Moments before Vandal Savage unleashed his deadly attack on Central City, Oliver told Barry to run as fast as he could and it’s a good thing he did. When Barry ran he ended up traveling through time and back to the arranged meeting with Vandal Savage that Malcolm Merlyn had setup. Barry was then able to use his experience from the first attack on Savage to help Team Arrow and Team Flash coordinate a successful second attack on the big bad.

It’s always fun seeing how time travel comes into play on “The Flash.” You know that when you see Barry Allen “ghosting” that a big moment will be coming later in the episode. Time travel is a tough concept to use in movies and TV shows and it can often make or break a story. With that being said, “The Flash” handles time travel very well and our brains appreciate the fact that it’s done with with such ease.

#1 – Malcom Merlyn Collects Vandal Savage’s Ashes

Although the heroes may have prevailed during the crossover episodes, we knew it wouldn’t be the end of Vandal Savage. He is the main villain of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” after all.

At the end of the episode we see Malcolm Merlyn collect Vandal Savage’s ashes and speak the words “You owe me one, buddy.” as he does it. Obviously Malcolm has bad intentions here. Like we said, we knew Vandal Savage wasn’t gone for good, but seeing Malcolm Merlyn play a role in Savage’s resurrection will just give us another great reason to love to hate Malcolm Merlyn.

After getting their first look at him, the Internet went to work. Check out the funniest reactions to the Doomsday reveal below.

Super hero movies are all the rage right now but Hollywood just can’t seem to figure out how to make video game movies. It’s kind of shocking that the idea hasn’t worked out yet when there are so many great stories ripe for the picking. Could it be that video games just work better when they’re in the format of a TV series instead?

We think that there are certain video game franchises that just won’t work on the small screen. Here’s what they are and here’s why.

#5 – Street Fighter

“Street Fighter” didn’t work out all that well as a movie. This much we know. But it could work awesome as a TV series and there’s proof! The “Street Fighter” video games are fun but when you play the games you don’t get a great sense of who the characters are. However, character development is something that the animated films have done quite well.

The “Street Fighter” franchise has a lot of great backstory that you just can’t get from playing a fighting game. With such an interesting cast of characters, 12 hour long, character-centric episodes could give viewers something to latch on to.

You just can’t tell the story of a tournament in a 2 hour movie. Each character has a path that they traveled to get to the tournament and each character has a reason why they want to win. There are a lot of opportunities to tell stories that will help audiences connect with characters like Ryu, Blanka, Ken, Vega, M. Bison and more.

If nothing else you know this show would be ripe with epic action sequences in the hands of the right stunt coordinator, so at least there’s that.

#4 – Metal Gear Solid

One of the most interesting things about the “Metal Gear Solid” franchise is the chronological order of the timeline and how the release dates of the franchise don’t really follow it. If you stop and think about it, that format would work perfectly for a TV show.

The first few games in the franchise establish Solid Snake as the hero while simultaneously building the mystique around Big Boss. Starting a show out with Snake as the main character and then jumping back in time a few seasons later to focus on Big Boss could be a fun way to play with time.

Sure, the storytelling in the “Metal Gear Solid” franchise gets convoluted at times, but there’s something truly special in there and it’s baffling how Hollywood hasn’t cracked it yet. But a movie just isn’t the way to go for Metal Gear. A television adaptation would give the story time to breathe which would play perfectly to the twists and turns and numerous reveals that take place throughout the saga.

#3 – Resident Evil

Let’s just be honest with ourselves, the “Resident Evil” films can’t even hold a candle to the video games when it comes to storytelling. The stories that these games tell seem so easy to adapt to film but somehow it just didn’t translate.

That’s because the “Resident Evil” franchise plays out a lot like a television series. The first game introduces you to the universe, the second game raises the stakes and from then on things just escalate. The franchise is rich with characters and loaded with mythology that has unfortunately become overly convoluted and repetitive. Taking the mythology back to basics is what the series as a whole needs to do and doing it with a television series might actually have a positive impact on the games that started it all.

Each game focuses on a specific set of characters which is a concept that would work great on television and keep audiences from getting bored. Having each different season focus on different characters and then having them team up for a big finale would be something that “Resident Evil” fans would certainly enjoy.

#2 – Final Fantasy

Super hero movies are hot right now but it took a while for Hollywood to crack them. Eventually the same thing is going to happen with video games and when it does, Final Fantasy will be all the rage.

Never before has a video game franchise lent itself so perfectly to the concept of an anthology series as Final Fantasy does. Each game is established in its own universe, with a fresh start, a fresh set of heroes and a fresh set of villains. But yet somehow it all still seems so familiar.

Television production has taken giant leaps over the past few years and the idea of bringing “Final Fantasy” to TV ten years ago might have sounded crazy, but it seems completely realistic today. Shows like “The Flash”, “Game of Thrones” and others have proven that TV can do big screen effects in a different setting which is exactly what this franchise needs to bring its fantastical worlds to life.

Any of the “Final Fantasy” games would make for a great season of TV. But let’s be honest with ourselves, it’s 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 that are truly the gems of the series. Any one of those games is a perfect fit for a 12 episode season of TV. The characters are gripping, the worlds are unique and the stories stick with you long after you’re done.

Could you imagine being able to watch the story of Terra, Cloud, Squall, Zidane or Titus play out over an entire season of television? The chance to explore those worlds that much in depth should be enough to get any “Final Fantasy” fan excited enough to say “Shut up and take my gil!”

#1 – Legend Of Zelda

Fans have been dreaming of a “Legend of Zelda” TV series for years now. Something needs to wash that awful taste that was left by the cartoon series (Excuuuuuuse me princess!) out of our mouths. “Game of Thrones” has been a massive success for HBO and everyone’s trying to figure out what the next “Game of Thrones” is. Well, look no further than the “Legend of Zelda.”

Of course please don’t get the comparison twisted. Zelda and Thrones are two totally different franchises in tone and you obviously wouldn’t expect the adult themed scenes that show up in Thrones to appear in a Zelda series. However, both shows are epic in scope and if someone could find a way to bring the sense of urgency that “Game of Thrones” possesses to a “Legend of Zelda” series, it would be a smash hit.

“The Legend Of Zelda” series contains many unique stories all based around the same foundation, but five things always remain consistent. Link, Princess Zelda, Ganon (in some form), the Triforce and Hyrule. Adapting different games such as “Ocarina of Time”, “The Twilight Princess” and “A Link to the Past” as their own season would give viewers something new but familiar to come back to each time. Plus it offers the chance to recast the characters each season.

The biggest problem with “Legend of Zelda” would be getting the tone right. The show would need to be playful and fun, but also epic and gritty when it needs to be. But in the right hands a “Legend of Zelda” TV series could be a tour de force. Give this show to the right network and you’re looking at the next big thing.

What video game franchises do you think would make epic TV shows?

“The Flash” season one was a huge hit and season 2 looks like it’s going to be bigger in every way possible. We’re only a few short weeks away from the premiere and these are the things you should be looking forward to when the show returns.

#5 – The Multiverse

In the season one finale a wormhole opened up in the sky above Central City. That wormhole will be the gateway to alternate worlds and alternate timelines known as the multiverse.

It’s been confirmed that the multiverse is going to play a big part in “The Flash” season 2. New heroes and new villains will be making their way through the multiverse to Central City which opens up the door to a lot of possibilities such as alternate versions of old characters returning. Expect the multiverse to incorporate more science fiction into the world of “The Flash.”

#4 – The Return Of Harrison Wells

Not only has it been confirmed that Tom Cavanaugh is returning as Harrison Wells, but it’s also been confirmed that Harrison Wells will come from an alternate timeline in the upcoming season. Tom Cavanaugh’s Eobard Thawne trapped in Harrison Wells’ body was one of the highlights of season 1. But this time around things will be different and it sounds like we’re actually going to meet the real Harrison Wells or an alternate version of the real Harrison Wells anyway.

It will be interesting to see how the character fits into the show this time around and how he interacts with Barry and company.

#3 – Bigger And Better Crossovers

The first time “Arrow” and “The Flash crossed over it was epic. But Barry and Oliver were still sort of feeling each other out and trying to figure out how to work as a team. Barry and Oliver now have more of an established history so we can expect the crossovers to be bigger and better.

The Flash and Green Arrow now know how to work as a team which is likely to create some pretty awesome action sequences. If the last season’s crossover episodes were an origin story for The Flash/Arrow team so to speak, than this season will be the one that really pushes the crossover potential to the limit.

#2 – New Villains

“The Flash” season 1 introduced some pretty awesome villains and it looks like that trend is going to continue in season 2. Zoom has been confirmed to be the big bad of the season and he’s being built up as the greatest villain of all. Reverse Flash really messed with Barry’s life in season 1 so it should be interesting to see what Zoom does to torment The Flash.

WWE Hall of Famer Edge is also playing Atom-Smasher in the new season. In a recent trailer for “The Flash” season 2 there’s a clip where Atom-Smasher mentions to Barry that Zoom sent him to kill The Flash. This gives the impression that Zoom will be pulling people’s strings and manipulating other people to do his dirty work. It sounds like Barry is really going to be challenged more than ever before by the villains of season 2.

#1 – Jay Garrick

Fans were beyond thrilled when they heard Jay Garrick was going to be a part of season 2. They were even more thrilled when they got to see footage of him and it looks like having another speedster such as Garrick is going to be a welcome addition to the show.

Barry Allen is still very much trying to figure out what type of hero he is and he needs guidance. Jay Garrick appears to be the perfect mentor for Barry and watching the two speedsters interact is likely going to be the highlight of season 2. Well, besides the fact that we’ll get to see that awesome Jay Garrick helmet on the regular.

If you’ve never heard of Smooth McGroove before then you’re in for a treat. He’s a musician and gamer that covers songs from video games and recreates them using only the sound of his voice. It sounds really cool doesn’t it?

It’s an awesome idea and he pulls it off perfectly each and every time. Subscribing to this man’s YouTube channel (which you can do by clicking HERE) is definitely worth a minute of your time. Don’t just take our word for it, check out the videos below.

#5 – Punch Out Theme

Who doesn’t remember going up against Mike Tyson on the NES with this song blaring through your TV speakers? This one is sure to bring back some fun, but frustrating memories.

#4 – Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Chemical Plant

There are a lot of great Sonic The Hedgehog songs to choose from when cruising through Smooth McGroove’s catalog but this one stands out thanks to the awesome dynamics. It seems like it would be a challenge to pull this song off but like he does in all of his videos, Smooth McGroove makes it look easy.

#3 – Super Mario World: Overworld Theme

Smooth McGroove has a lot of Super Mario covers but this one is an instant classic. He takes one of the most upbeat video game songs from the SNES era and totally does it justice. Good luck listening to this one and not getting it stuck in your head all day.

#2 – Legend of Zelda A Link To The Past: Overworld Theme

We all know the Legend of Zelda theme. As a matter of fact if you play video games you’ve probably heard it a million times before, but you’ve never heard it quite like this.

#1 – Final Fantasy VII: One Winged Angel

Smooth McGroove says that he put more work into this song than anything he had ever done before and it shows. This 7 minute epic grabs your attention and keeps it from start to finish. It’s a worthy homage to one of the most iconic villains in video game history.
