‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ To Get R-Rated Release On Blu-Ray

It looks like “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is getting an R-rated release. The MPAA recently put out a bulletin which lists an R-rated cut for the film due to “sequences of violence.” But the bulletin also notes that the R-rated release will be separate from the PG-13 release.  But don’t get too excited. It looks like the R-rated version will only be released on Blu-Ray later this year.

As soon as the news hit the Internet fans immediately started bringing up success of “Deadpool.” The film recently became the highest grossing R-rated comic book film at the box office so naturally it looks like Warner Bros. is trying to get in on that action.

The timing does seem to be a little suspicious here. News of a “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” R-rated cut comes only days after “Deadpool” redefined what an R-rated comic book movie can do at the box office. So it’s an interesting move to say the least.

But there’s really no way to know whether or not this is legitimately a reaction to the success of “Deadpool.” That is unless an exec from Warner Bros. comes forth and starts shouting: “We want that “Deadpool” money! Give us all the money!” Which is unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

Maybe Warner Bros. is releasing this as a reaction to “Deadpool.” Maybe they’re not. We don’t know. However we do know that the fan reactions to the news have been pretty hilarious so far. You can see what people are saying below.
