Warning — spoilers for this week’s episode of “Arrow” ahead.
This week’s episode of “Arrow” titled “Brothers In Arms” put Oliver Queen and Diggle’s friendship in the spotlight, and it all fell apart right before out very eyes.
After Oliver told Diggle that he won’t be giving up the Green Arrow mantle, all hell broke loose and John went off on Oliver then questioned some of the big decisions he’s made over the years.
One thing led to another, and the two friends ended up beating the hell out of each other before Felicity stepped in to break it up.
At the end of the episode Diggle told Oliver that he’s alienated everyone close to him, and he announced that he’s leaving the team.
Whether you agree with the direction that the writers have taken Diggle and Oliver, it’s hard to deny that Amell and Ramsey sold the hell out of the scenes they were given.
The general consensus among fans is that Stephen Amell and David Ramsey delivered with their performances, but that the writing and characterization of Diggle just didn’t make sense, and you can check out some of the reactions below.

John Diggle deserves better than this. He’s been written as pure, strong and kind hearted for 6 seasons and (unless there’s some other issue we’re not aware of yet) him acting this way this episode MAKES NO SENSE #Arrow #OTA pic.twitter.com/qFMtZCQZi7

Still don’t see Oliver alienating others. All I see is people abandoning him and blaming him for their problems. 🤷🏻♀️#Arrow

S6 Oliver Queen isn't alienating anyone. THEY are alienating themselves through irrationality. #Arrow

I think I'm with Stephen. I still don't get why everyone is mad at Oliver. #Arrow

That was an amazing scene full of words that made no sense coming from the people who were saying them. Kudos on the acting. SHAME on the writing. #Arrow

"That is WAY out of character for you, my friend." YEESSSS, Oliver. That's what we're all saying. What the hell, Diggle?? #Arrow

So Diggle is allowed to have a wife and kid but when Oliver does it, it's selfish and distracting from the mission. 🤔 #Arrow
