Andrew Lincoln Tried To Save A Certain Actor From Getting Killed On The Walking Dead

A lot of people die on “The Walking Dead” like, a lot. The season 6 premiere was no exception as it introduced a new character then killed him off just as quickly. The character’s name was Carter and he was played by Ethan Embry. Carter was introduced early in the episode and looked like he was going to play a major role in the Alexandria storyline but it was not meant to be.

However, Andrew Lincoln was pretty impressed with Ethan Embry’s acting chops and tried to prevent him from being written off the show.

“He was a brilliant actor. It’s that thing I say every time we kill someone off: ‘Do we really have to take this guy down?’ Because he’s amazing, and also he gave voice to the rebellion that was happening in Alexandria, and did it so well, so grounded. I really bought the fact that he was a working man, but someone who wasn’t willing to concede to this maniac Rick.” Lincoln told EW.

Unfortunately for Ethan Embry and Andrew Lincoln, Lincoln’s suggestion came at the absolute worst time.

“On the day we had to kill him, Andy pulled me aside and goes, ‘You know this guy’s a real talent. We should probably keep him around,’ I was like, ‘You know we’re shooting his death scene, like, right now!’ ” Producer Greg Nicotero said.

Yeah so don’t expect to see Ethan Embry again on “The Walking Dead” unless perhaps he’s used for a flashback scene. Also let this incident serve as a reminded that no one is safe on “The Walking Dead”, no one.
