Now that Barry Allen is back in action, “The Flash” returned to its old ways this week with “Mixed Signals.” The writers have been promising fans that season 4 would feature a lighter tone, and it was clear from this week’s episode that they intend to make good on their promise.

“Mixed Signals” featured a lot of humor, fun and plenty of moments to make the West-Allen shippers smile. The lighthearted tone definitely fits, and this week’s episode was a nice reminder of why fans fell in love with “The Flash” in the first place.
