There Will Be A Big Mystery On The Flash In Season 4

For three seasons now fans of “The Flash” have watched Team Flash face off against a speedster, and each time the speedster’s true identity was a mystery. Guessing the identity of the big bad has been fun, but the show will be switching things up this season.

The villain will not be a speedster this time around. Instead Team Flash will be facing off against Clifford DeVoe, aka The Thinker, but there will still be a big mystery that Team Flash will need to solve.

Showrunner Todd Helbing recently told TV Line that there is a “psychological component” to “The Flash season 4, and that The Thnker is “literally is the smartest guy on the planet, so there’s a lot of chess pieces that he’s moving around simultaneously. As our team is figuring out who he is and what they think the plan is, there’s a lot of fun [as we] show the audience information and then have our team catch up to that information or surpass it. It’s a big mystery.”

Whether you’ve become sick of the speedster reveal schtick of not, there’s no denying the mysteries have made each season fun, so it’s nice to see that even though season 4 won’t have a speedster, it will still keep fans guessing.

“The Flash” season 4 will premiere on Tuesday, October 10.

Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department. Barry’s life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive — The Flash. But when Barry used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother’s life, he inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint; a phenomenon that gave birth to the villainous speed god known as Savitar, and changed the lives of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Wally West (Keiyan Lonsdale) forever.

With the help of his adoptive father, Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), his lifelong best friend and love interest Iris West (Candice Patton), and his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs — Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), C.S.I Julian Albert (Tom Felton), and an Earth-19 novelist named H.R. Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) — Barry continues to protect the people of Central City from the meta-humans that threaten it.

Based on the characters from DC, THE FLASH is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros.
