Juliana Harkavy On Black Canary Possibly Joining DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will be returning for season 3 in a few weeks, and some new characters will be joining the cast. “Legends of Tomorrow” has somewhat of a revolving door policy when it comes to the roster which makes it easy for new characters and established “Arrowverse” characters to be added to the mix.

The Legends have one former Black Canary on the team thanks to Sara Lance, but by the time she joined the team she became the White Canary. The team has never had an official Black Canary in their ranks, but now that Dinah Drake is picking up the Black Canary mantle, there’s always a chance that could change in the future.

A Dinah Drake/Sara Lance team up could make for some fun action scenes, but Juliana Harkavy recently told ComicBookMovie.com that even though she’s interested in crossing over to other shows, she doesn’t want to see Dinah Drake removed from Team Arrow.

“I think Dinah and Black Canary are so connected to Arrow and that story and mythology, I just don’t know if I would fully drop her out there because that’s her team and they’re part of what forms her at this point in the game. I would love to have her be part of the other shows to go save some lives on other worlds and stuff. That would be fun!”

Harkavy raises a pretty good point about Black Canary being tied to the Green Arrow mythology and it wouldn’t make sense to take her out of the show at this point. After Laurel was killed off there was a lot of backlash from fans due to the lack of a Black Canary, but the writers have solved that problem by adding Dinah Drake.

Still, there’s no denying that Black Canary would make a great addition to the team, so hopefully she’ll be able to make a few appearances on “Legends of Tomorrow” in the future.

DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return for season 3 on Tuesday, October 10.

After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question.

With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time traveling heroics, Sara (Caity Lotz) wastes no time in getting the Legends back together. We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nick Heywood (Nick Zano), and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm.

Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.
