“Arrow” fans are patiently waiting for season 6 to arrive, as there are many questions heading into the new season. One of the questions fans are asking has to do with “Person of Interest” and “Lost” star Michael Emerson’s role, as his character has yet to be revealed.
The most popular theory regarding his mystery role is that he’ll be playing Helix leader Cayden James, which is a role that he seems to be a perfect fit for. “Arrow” executive producer Wendy Mericle recently spoke to TVLine, and she noted that Michael’s performance will be familiar to fans who have seen his work before, but they’re also finding new elements to add to his character.
“This character that we’re having [Michael] play is somewhat similar to people has has played in the past,” Mericle shared. “But we had many conversations with him about how to make it different, and what elements we could bring to the character to change it up.”
Even though the CW has yet to release any footage of Michael Emerson on “Arrow” it’s safe to say he’s going to be a welcome addition to the show, and Mericle had nothing but good things to say about him.
“He is a dream to work with, and I think he’s doing an amazing job,” raves Mericle. “We’ve seen some dailies of some of his episodes and he’s just fantastic. He’s a really understated, subtle actor, and that brings a different energy on set. It’s great.”
“Arrow” will return on Thursday, October 12.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice.
As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).
Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”.
